Collection Manager, Shanelle Clinton, is celebrating 10 years with the company this month. She began as a collector in the Bad Debt Collection Department in June 2007, and has worked her way up to Collection Manager over one of the bad debt teams. Shanelle works closely with her team of collectors as well as Hollis Cobb directors, client services staff, insurance representatives and numerous clients.

Always busy working to make sure her team meets all client goals, Shanelle manages 10 collectors and makes sure they maintain all files properly, achieve their goals and operate with the collection/customer service approach prescribed by each client. She provides leadership for her team as well as training on the Hollis Cobb FACS collection system and on various client patient accounting systems. Shanelle interacts daily with client patient accounts managers and their staffs, and she spends a great deal of time analyzing client inventories and electronic files to ensure maximum revenue is recovered for her clients.

Prior to joining the Hollis Cobb team, Shanelle worked for the Professional Career Development Institute for four years. She ended up in the collection business when a friend told her that she could work a flexible schedule and be rewarded for her successful efforts with commission. This was attractive to Shanelle, and she became a collector specializing in healthcare.

shanelle-clintonShanelle said the best thing about her job is having the “ability to lead a staff in a manner that results in a group exceeding established goals, objectives, growing profitability and actively securing client confidence and goodwill.” She went on to say that she has been amazed at the growth of the company and expansion of the client base over the last decade. “This has been wonderful to see,” she commented.

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Shanelle is married with 2 children – a 21 year-old-daughter and a nine-year-old son. She lives in the Atlanta area and enjoys spending time with family and friends when not leading her team at Hollis Cobb. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important to Shanelle; therefore she works out regularly participating in yoga and kick boxing classes. She is a supportive mom to an active student athlete, and enjoys the time spent at her child’s games. Shanelle is one of the hardest working managers at Hollis Cobb, and says she lives by the mantra of “Pray, Live, Laugh, Love.” It will be exciting to see where the next 10 years takes Shanelle Clinton.
