Hollis Cobb staff turned out in big numbers last week to support Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) in the 6th Annual Strong4Life Sprint. The Strong4Life program helps families raise healthier children by bringing schools, healthcare professionals and the community together to educate, support and encourage families by promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The program focuses on three key strategies to promote healthier children and families:

  • Equipping parents with resources they can use at home to promote a healthier lifestyle and avoid childhood obesity
  • Training healthcare providers to educate parents and children on how to be as healthy as possible, particularly addressing dietary topics
  • Working with schools and communities to impact children where they learn and play

Over the last five years, participation in the Strong4Life Sprint has increased and Hollis Cobb management and staff were happy to get together and support this worthy cause.

This year’s event included Superheroes and other characters to entertain the crowd and participate in the activities which included a 5K Sprint, a 1-Mile Fun Run and a Costume Contest. Participants gathered at Piedmont Park in Atlanta to pay their entry fees and take part in the exercise and fun.

All proceeds from the Strong4Life event went to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, a non-profit organization charged with making children better today and healthier tomorrow through the philanthropic support of individual donors, charitable foundations and corporations. Hollis Cobb leadership and staff are always enthusiastic about supporting healthcare facilities nationwide and particularly in our own community.
