When asked how long he has been in the Revenue Cycle Management industry, Hollis Cobb Chief Operations Officer, Floyd Lawson, laughs and responds, “Let’s just say over 40 years.” Floyd Lawson joined the Hollis Cobb executive team in 2011 as Director of Operations and a year later was promoted to Chief Operations Officer. Hollis Cobb leadership was happy to bring Floyd onboard 11 years ago, and he has had a tremendous impact on the company’s operations team, particularly in the areas of process improvement and client relations.

“My work with employees and clients is my biggest success,” Floyd said. Always a people person, Floyd is well-respected by his staff and managers who keep a running list of “Floydisms,” or wise and funny sayings that Floyd often proclaims in his booming baritone.

Unique in that he is an Atlanta native, Floyd is a graduate of Clark College. He began his career as a collector, and quickly moved into management and leadership positions with various Atlanta companies. Over his 40-year career, he has gained broad experience working with Fortune 500 companies as well as government agencies and large health systems. Floyd’s career spans a diverse client base at all stages of the revenue cycle. He meets with clients on a regular basis and attends healthcare conferences to help the sales team explain our many service offerings to interested prospective clients.

A favorite among Hollis Cobb clients, Floyd rarely visits a client site without running into someone who has worked for him in the past. He has a particular talent for providing new employees with sound advice and encouragement, mentoring them as they advance in their careers. Floyd works closely with each of his Client Teams in the Operations Department at Hollis Cobb to ensure that all aspects of our clients’ unique operations are precisely emulated. His goal is always to provide full transparency for each client and a positive experience for every patient.

Dividing his time between client visits and staff meetings, Floyd plays a vital role at Hollis Cobb as the company continues to expand through strategic acquisitions and organic sales. Both Hollis Cobb staff and clients have greatly benefited with him at the helm of the company’s growing Operations Department.

Floyd has been happily married since 1987, and is the father of two grown daughters, both graduates of Auburn University.
