Hollis Cobb Collections Manager, Donna Allen, just celebrated 12 years with the company this month. In her position, she wears many hats including managing a team of collectors and training new collectors on client projects once they complete Hollis Cobb’s internal training program. She is responsible for ensuring that her team meets or exceeds client goals, reconciling client inventories and providing analysis reports to Hollis Cobb leadership.
Donna was recruited by Hollis Cobb executives 12 years ago from another agency in Alabama where she had worked for eight years. She moved to Georgia and continued her career with Hollis Cobb, moving up in the ranks to her current management position. Donna was instrumental in helping get collection teams up and running from home in a secure environment during the Covid shut down.
Originally from Alabaster, Alabama, Donna has lived on the West Coast and worked for a mortgage company, a CPA and a physician before moving back home to Alabama and beginning a career in revenue cycle management. She has her Certified Patient Accounts Representative or CPAR designation through HFMA (Healthcare Financial Management Association) as well as her Certified Collection Manager or HCM designation through ACA International (American Collectors Association).
A people person, the best part of Donna’s job, she said, is the people. She enjoys supporting her team and helping each member meet their goals. The most challenging aspect of her jobs is the fact that she wears so many hats. Her goal every day, she said, is to ensure all client needs are met and each one of her team experiences success as a collector.
When not at the corporate office in Duluth, Georgia, Donna enjoys volunteering at her church and traveling home to Alabama to help a friend, who is a nurse, care for residents in a group home. Donna has one daughter as well as four grandchildren – three boys and one girl with whom she enjoys spending as much time as possible.
All of her team, as well as Hollis Cobb leadership, value Donna’s industry knowledge, her expertise in monitoring and supporting her collectors, her ability to make sure client goals are met and her skill at bringing people together for a common cause.
