The Mississippi office of Hollis Cobb Associates, Health Care Financial Services (HFS) recently donated 40 tickets to a local boys’ school so that the boys could attend a Mississippi Braves game. Also known as the M-Braves, the minor league baseball team is based just outside of Jackson, in Pearl, Mississippi. The team is the Class AA affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, and is part of the Southern League.
A total of 40 young boys from the Piney Woods Boys School were able to attend a recent M-Braves game, and sit right behind home plate, thanks to the generosity of HFS staff sharing the company’s season tickets. According to Keith Sibley of Piney Woods, “Our students had a blast! For some, it was their first time at a professional sporting event.” He went on to thank HFS and Hollis Cobb for providing the opportunity to his students.
“The M-Braves are the only professional team in the state of Mississippi,” noted Jan Williams who represents the team. By implementing a “Never Wasted Ticket Policy,” Jan explained, companies like HFS, that hold season tickets, are able to turn in all unused tickets toward the end of the season, and those tickets are donated in bulk to charitable organizations or schools like Piney Woods.
Always active in the community, the leadership at Hollis Cobb Associates is happy to extend that community involvement to the Mississippi office and other Hollis Cobb offices and clients throughout the country.
