Hollis Cobb Patient Access Manger, Steven Hecht, recently earned his Certified Healthcare Access Manager designation (CHAM) through the National Association of Healthcare Access Managers (NAHAM). After spending months studying along with other members of the Georgia chapter of NAHAM, Steven was thrilled to pass the examination. A dedicated leader in the Patient Access Department at Hollis Cobb, Steven said his CHAM certification “increases my value to the organization.” His next goals include studying for and passing HFMA’s (Healthcare Financial Management Association) Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) exam and the Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR) exam.

hechtSteven has progressed in the Patient Access Management arena quickly since getting started in the industry six years ago. His first position was at Resurgens Orthopedics where his mother has worked for the past 20 years. He moved on from there to Northside Radiology Associates before landing at Hollis Cobb a little over a year ago. As Patient Access Manager, Steven manages the operations for all patient access projects, including the pre-registration and pre-certification work Hollis Cobb performs for clients across the U.S. Steven has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA). He has been working on his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and plans to finish that degree as soon as possible.

“The people that I work with every day are the best part of my job,” Steven said, adding that the most challenging aspect of his job is motivating his team members in spite of their diverse personalities. Born and raised in Atlanta, Steven’s wedding is just around the corner on May 28. He met his future wife in high school, and they have planned a honeymoon in Costa Rica. The couple is looking to buy a home in East Atlanta, and thrive on the hustle and bustle of life in the city. Outside of his responsibilities at Hollis Cobb, Steven enjoys walking the Belt-Line in Atlanta with his fiancé along with going to the movies and studying and discussing public policy.

A tremendous asset to the Patient Access Department at Hollis Cobb, Steven got in on the ground floor of the newest service offerings Hollis Cobb is providing to clients in the area of Patient Access. He has helped developed the new service line ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service, and we continually beat our competition.
